A Grand Celebration of Combat Sports
The Indian
Combat League (ICL) proudly concluded its 9th Season from 16th
to 18th May 2025 at the Talkatora
Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Organized under the banner of the National Martial Arts Committee India (NMAC India)
and sanctioned by the International
Association of Combative Sports (IACS), the event marked another
milestone in India’s growing combat sports journey.
Powerful
Participation and Spectacular Performances
More than 200
fighters representing various Indian states and diverse martial art
disciplines showcased their skills and determination in front of a packed
audience. Competitors from MMA, Kickboxing,
Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo, Wrestling, and Boxing demonstrated
exceptional sportsmanship and fighting spirit across multiple categories and
weight divisions.
Each bout reflected the spirit of unity,
discipline, and respect that the ICL stands for — blending the essence of
traditional martial arts with modern professional combat sport standards.
Knowledge
Exchange and Athlete Development
Alongside the intense competitions, special workshops and technical seminars
were conducted for athletes, referees, and coaches. Sessions focused on:
·
Athlete
safety and injury management
·
Modern
training methodologies
·
Referee
and judge education
·
Women’s
empowerment through combat sports
These sessions helped build awareness about
safe, scientific, and ethical practices in the field of combat training and
competition.
A
Continuing Legacy
Since its inception in 2019, the ICL – Indian Combat League has become one of India’s
most recognized and respected combat sports platforms. Officially trademark registered under the Government of
India (since October 2019), ICL continues to bridge the gap between
amateur and professional fighting, nurturing young talent and promoting India’s
martial arts heritage on global platforms.
Looking
Ahead
The successful completion of ICL Season 9 once again proved that
India is fast emerging as a global hub for combat sports. With growing
participation, improved event standards, and international recognition, ICL is
paving the way for a new generation of Indian fighters to shine on the world
stage.
Preparations are already underway for ICL Season 10, proposed to be held at
the Boxing Hall, Parade Ground, Dehradun
(Uttarakhand) in November 2025
— promising even greater excitement and participation.
